The Civic University Project team is working to increase UEA’s civic nature, both inside and outside our walls. One of our internal projects is carrying out staff consultations regarding the potential of creating a volunteering policy for all UEA staff. We are exploring the theme of Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) and how having a volunteering policy for all UEA staff, supported by UEA, could improve staff working life and encourage us to be a more civic-minded community.

To gather every interested staff member’s ideas, we are holding three consultations across July, August, and September. These online sessions will give you the opportunity to suggest and discuss ideas around what an improved volunteering policy for all staff members at UEA might look like, and how we would need to shape it to benefit all.
Once we have carried out our consultations, we will review staff feedback and either proceed to work on a policy proposal, or release data reviewing what alternative steps are required to ensure volunteering is supported within UEA working culture.
